| Picket Fencing |
| Picket fencing is traditionally used around cottage gardens, but can also be used elsewhere. |
| Orlestone picket fencing can be supplied as untreated hardwood, using oak from our own sawmill, or in softwood that has been pressure-treated with Tanalith E which helps prevent insect infestation and rot. |
It can be made into a variety of designs by varying the height of the boards, or pales, which can be rounded, pointed, straight or chamfered on the upper edge.
| Posts are erected at regular intervals which are spanned by arris rails which can be mortice and tennoned, or nailed. The pales are nailed to the arris rails at regular intervals between the posts. |

| Picket fence designs |
By varying the height of the pales a number of designs can be created when building a picket fence.
Picket gates can also be supplied to match the design of the picket fencing. |
| Parallel design with all round-top pales fitted at the same height. |
| Curved design with pales cut to varying heights. Pales on the matching gate are cut to lengths to continue the undulating effect. |
| Post and rail design with three short pales/one long pale creating a pretty, open effect. |
